Predispute is the chargeback intelligence enterprise fraud teams run every day, made for Shopify and Stripe stores. It watches your estimated dispute ratio against the Visa and Mastercard thresholds, gives every dispute a fight, refund, or accept verdict tuned by reason code and by what you can evidence, catches card testing and orders being refunded and charged back at once, and counts the recovered dollars on screen. It is built by Andamento, a payments and fraud strategy consultancy that has run dispute operations for global enterprises for decades.
From the Shopify App Store or the Stripe Marketplace, with read access to your orders and disputes and nothing else to configure. Predispute reads the months behind you as soon as it connects, so if the last full month already carries at least a hundred settled card transactions your estimated ratio is on screen within minutes. Below that it says there is not enough data rather than printing a figure that one dispute would swing by half a point. Verdicts begin with your next dispute either way.
Monitor is free. Resolve is $199 a month and adds the dispute verdicts with Recovered Dollars counted on screen; Defend is $499 and adds fraud detection on new orders plus win rates by dispute reason code. Annual billing is 3 months free, which brings Resolve to $150 a month and Defend to $375. There are no per-dispute charges and no percentage of recoveries anywhere in the product. See full pricing.
No, and every screen that shows the number says so. Merchants cannot see the fraud reports banks file, so the official program figures exist only on the network’s side. Predispute models the ratio from your own order and dispute data instead, documents the method, and labels the result an estimate. The estimate exists to give you warning, and the threshold worth watching is not the 1.5% that gets a merchant named by Visa. It is the 0.50% and 0.70% acquirer levels below it, because an acquirer manages its own portfolio by restricting the stores pushing it upward, which is how payouts stop months before Visa itself does anything.
No, on either platform. Predispute reads your account and never writes to it: it does not submit a response, issue a refund, hold an order or cancel one. What it gives you is the call on each dispute with the reasoning attached, and the list of what that reason code is decided on alongside the records you already hold, so you know what you are arguing with. You then respond in Shopify or Stripe yourself. If you would rather not write the rebuttal, a fight verdict links through to representments.com, which drafts the letter.
There is no model to warm up, because both checks look for things that have already happened in your records, but less of it runs today than the plan describes. Predispute looks for an order carrying an open return and a chargeback at the same time, which needs a return record Stripe does not keep, so that one runs on Shopify only. It also looks for three or more charges on one buyer inside a day, and says how many of them were under $10, since small amounts make card testing likelier without being required for the alert. That check reads order details Shopify releases separately from installing the app and has not released to us, so today it runs on Stripe and not on Shopify. Where a check cannot run the app says so on the screen where it would have reported. Fraud Prevented counts the orders you flagged and then recorded as fraud yourself, plus the dispute fees those orders would have carried, so the figure only moves when you act on one.
No. The fee is the same whether Predispute recovers $200 or $20,000 in a month. A vendor paid by the clawback profits most in your worst months, and that is the arrangement Predispute was priced to avoid: the flat fee keeps the verdicts clean, and Recovered Dollars on screen show what the subscription earned.
Yes, at any time, and how depends on where you bought. A Shopify plan is billed by Shopify, so you cancel it in your Shopify admin alongside your other apps. A Stripe plan is billed by Andamento through Stripe Checkout rather than inside your own Stripe account, so it will not appear in your Stripe billing settings: email predispute@andamentoadvisors.com and we will cancel it. Either way monthly plans stop at the end of the current month, annual plans run to the end of their term, there are no exit fees, and nothing is left to remove beyond the app.
Monitor is free. Install it and decide once your estimated ratio is on the screen.
