The essentials

What is Predispute?

Predispute is a dispute hygiene check on your store: like a regular check-up for your chargebacks. Every day it works out the share of your card sales that turn into chargebacks, on Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, from your own orders. It then tells you what to do with each dispute. Fight it, refund it, or let it go, with the reasoning beside it. It also catches fake test purchases on stolen cards and orders you refunded and were charged back for. It counts what you keep. Andamento built it. We have worked in card payments for decades.

How does it install?

From the Shopify App Store or the Stripe Marketplace. It reads your orders and your disputes. There is nothing else to set up. Predispute reads your past months as soon as it connects. If your last full month had 100 card sales or more, your rate is on screen in minutes. Below that we say so. We will not print a figure one dispute would swing by half a point. Recommendations start with your next dispute either way.

What does it cost?

Measure is free. Decide adds a recommendation on every dispute, with the reasoning. It gives you your win rate on each dispute type. It adds fraud checks on new orders and the money you won back on screen. Fight adds the drafted rebuttal. There are no per-dispute charges. We take no percentage of what you recover. The price for your store is on the Shopify App Store, the Stripe Marketplace, and our pricing page.

Accuracy and coverage

Where does the number come from?

Your own orders and your own disputes, straight from Shopify. We divide your chargebacks in a month by your card sales in the same month. We do that for Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Discover, and for your store as a whole. Every step of the sum is on the Calculations page in the app. You can check any figure against your own records.

Does Predispute submit disputes for me?

No, on either platform. You get the recommendation and the reasoning behind it. You also get a list of what that dispute type turns on, beside the records you already hold. You respond in Shopify or Stripe yourself. If you would rather not write your reply to the dispute, a fight recommendation links to representments.com. They draft the letter.

How well does fraud detection work on day one?

It works on day one. There is no model to warm up. Both checks read records you already have. The first finds an order carrying an open refund and a chargeback at once, so you do not pay the same customer twice. The second finds 3 or more charges on one buyer in a day, and says how many were under $10, since small amounts make card testing likelier (fake test purchases on stolen cards). Fraud stopped counts the orders you flagged and cancelled, plus the fees they would have carried.

Billing and control

Do you take a percentage of what I recover?

No. The fee is the same whether you recover $200 or $20,000 in a month. A vendor paid out of what it wins back for you earns most in your worst months. Our fee does not move, which keeps the recommendations clean. The money-won-back total on screen shows you what the subscription earned.

Can I cancel whenever I want?

Yes, any time. Shopify bills a Shopify plan, so you cancel it in your Shopify admin. Andamento bills a Stripe plan through Stripe Checkout, not inside your own Stripe account. It will not show in your Stripe billing settings. Email hello@predispute.co and we will cancel it. Monthly plans stop at the end of the month. Annual plans run to the end of the term. There are no exit fees, and nothing of yours stays behind.

Still deciding?

Measure is free. Install it and decide once your rate is on the screen.
