Three steps
- Install Predispute from the Shopify App Store.
- Approve the access listed below.
- See your chargeback rate on each card brand.
What Predispute can read
Shopify shows you this list on the approval screen. These are the exact permissions the app asks for.
- read_shopify_payments_disputes
- Your chargebacks: the amount, the card brand, the reason, the status and the deadline.
- read_orders
- Your orders: what was bought, when, how much it cost, and its refunds, shipping and tracking.
- read_all_orders
- Your full order history, not only the last 60 days, so a rate can be worked out for past months.
- read_returns
- Your returns, so a refund or return that is open on the same order as a chargeback gets flagged.
- read_customers
- The customer on an order, mainly how many orders they have placed with you before.
- read_shopify_payments
- Your Shopify Payments account: the name that appears on a customer's card statement, and the country.
Proof for a dispute
These four let Predispute read and save evidence on a dispute in Shopify. Predispute never presses Submit for you. Shopify sends your response when you submit it, or on the due date if you do not.
- read_shopify_payments_dispute_evidences
- The evidence already saved on a dispute in Shopify.
- write_shopify_payments_dispute_evidences
- Lets Predispute save evidence text onto a dispute in Shopify. It never presses Submit for you.
- read_shopify_payments_dispute_file_uploads
- The evidence files already attached to a dispute.
- write_shopify_payments_dispute_file_uploads
- Lets Predispute attach evidence files to a dispute in Shopify. It never presses Submit for you.
How to uninstall
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings, Apps and sales channels, Predispute, Uninstall.
