The customer's bank reads only the response you send, and most dispute services never show it to you. Auto-submit tools send replies the merchant never opens. AI vendors return outcomes without the text. Payment-company dashboards (Stripe, Shopify Payments and the like) mark cases "submitted" without showing the document. A merchant who cannot read the reply cannot improve it, and over a year that holds win rates down.
Services usually say the reply comes from software the customer could not interpret. A likelier reason is that showing it would expose how thin it is. A merchant reading it would see the same template across three different cases. They would also see the same shipping confirmation attached whatever the dispute reason.

AI is useful behind the response. It pulls records at scale, surfaces how banks tend to decide and formats evidence. It depends on data that older merchant systems often do not provide cleanly. Before signing with a service, ask to read a response it produced for a comparable case.
